What is an MMA
Promotion? What is the difference between an MMA Promotion and a MMA
Event?
A MMA Promotion is
an individual or a company that organizes fights, events, and or
tournaments. An example of a MMA promotion would be the UFC. A MMA
Event is a group of fights organized over a single day by a
promotion company. An example of an MMA event would be UFC 100.
So in our example
above, the UFC is the Promotion and puts on the Event called UFC
100.
As we all know,
mixed martial arts is growing at a rapid pace and new MMA promotions
are starting and folding on a monthly basis. In order for both new
MMA fans and hardcore enthusiasts to keep up with all the changes,
MMAPromotion.com was formed to be the #1 source for all things
related to MMA promotions.
To start this
massive endeavor, we’ve compiled info about many MMA promotions and
divided them into the categories posted
below. As you will see, MMA promotions both large and small and from
around the world are listed.
As we continue
refining this data, we will make frequent changes such as adding new MMA promotions
and deleting promotions that no longer exist. In cases where major
MMA promotions close down, we will continue to list them on a
separate section with other defunct promotions.
Keeping all
this in mind, please let us know if we are missing something or need to
add/correct information on the site.
